Police bring Christmas joy to local children

On December 17, 2022, members of the Davidson County Fraternal Order of Police(FOP) Lodge #97 conducted its annual “COPS & KIDS CHRISTMAS SHOPPING EVENT,” by taking 28 children Christmas shopping at the Walmart Supercenter,1585 Liberty Drive, Ste. 1, in Thomasville. The Lodge spent approximately $4,000.00 on the purchase of toys and clothes for this event.
The Davidson County FOP Lodge #97 would like to thank “Avis Fine Jewelry,” in Thomasville, “Nature’s Cottage” in Thomasville, “Winner’s Circle Awards and Screen Printing” in Thomasville, for their financial contributions to this Christmas event. The Lodge would also like to thank all those in the community who made donations for this “COPS & KIDS CHRISTMAS SHOPPING EVENT.” In addition, the Lodge would like to thank the store manager at Walmart and his staff for their assistance and support in making this a great event.
The Davidson County FOP Lodge #97 would also like to thank Sheriff Richie Simmons of the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, 1ST Sgt. J.J. Jackson with the NC State Highway Patrol(SHP) in Lexington and the SHP Troopers in this district, Chief Mark Kattner of the Thomasville Police Department, Assistant Chief Dustin Carter of the Thomasville Police Department, Chief Robby Rummage of the Lexington Police Department, and Chief Mark Hicks of the Denton Police Department for their assistance and support. The Davidson County FOP Lodge #97 would also like to thank all the law enforcement officers and Lodge members who helped take the children shopping and the volunteers who helped gift-wrap the toys for the children, to make this a great memorable Christmas event for these children
