Police investigate shooting, searching for suspect

LEXINGTON, NC – Police are investigation the shooting of a 40-year-old man on Federal Street that occurred about 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

According to a press release, when officers arrived at the scene, they found one man suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper leg in the front yard of 224 Federal Street. The victim has been identified as 40-year-old Anthony Kindle. Officers immediately began life-saving efforts and continued assisting Davidson County EMS once they arrived before transporting Kindle to the hospital. No information on Kindle’s condition has been released.

The shooting appears to be an isolated incident with no further threat to the public, according to police. However, the investigation is ongoing, and police have released a description of the vehicle the suspected shooter was in.

Detectives are looking for a 2011 Lexus IS250, black or dark gray, with a Georgia license plate of CWW3774. If anyone sees the car, do not approach the vehicle; call 911 and report the location of the car.
