Political Opinion: From Sen. Jarvis' Desk - October 14, 2022

Dear Friends,

We have had a busy week at the General Assembly with community and legislative meetings.

On Tuesday, the North Carolina General Assembly held another Joint Legislative Health Care Committee. This committee was made up of both House of Representatives and Senate members to discuss the possible and upcoming policy that will be raised in the next long session.

This week, I had the honor of presenting Hospice of Davidson County with funding allocated in this years budget for there work in serving our Community. Thank you for taking care of our community.

At the October 10, 2022 meeting of the Davidson County Board of Commissioners, the Board voted unanimously to waive Landfill fees for the disposal of deer carcasses. This action was taken at the request of the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.

Davidson County is joining our colleagues across the nation in launching Operation Green Light for Veterans, an initiative designed to shine a light on the service of our veterans and their families.

The North Carolina State Fair Opened this week on Thursday and will be running until October 23. Come down to Raleigh to see all North Carolina has to offer!

Remember, midterm elections are coming up, and so much in the North Carolina courts and Legislature is up to you! Remember to cast your vote heard.

This week I had the pleasure of attending The bipartisan Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus (CSC), one of the largest and most effective caucuses in the US Congress with approximately 250 members of the House and Senate representing almost all 50 states.

The Annual Lexington Barbecue Festival will me held Saturday, October 22, 2022, you won't want to miss it! What better way to experience the Barbecue Capital of the World than to attend the Lexington BBQ Festival? Each year, this exciting food event attracts over 150,000 visitors to Lexington to feast on the best, juiciest, and most flavorful barbecue sold in dozens of stalls and restaurants.
