Creative Writer’s Group Kicking Off First Gathering in Lexington Oct. 16
Hosted by Pig City Books, join a community of local writers inspiring each other’s unique voices
through fiction, nonfiction, poetry, essays, the art of storytelling and more!
Calling all writers and storytellers! Published authors, dabbling poets, keepers of ancestral stories, nature’s narrators – come one, come all.
The first Writer’s Gathering is Sunday, Oct. 16 at 2 pm at Pig City Books in Lexington. This event is for anyone looking to expand their writing skills and engage with a community of local writers in a low pressure environment. The only requirement for group participation is a willingness to grow as a writer.
Group leader and creative catalyst Claire Birchenough believes, “everyone is a creator and has the potential to be an artist with words. My hope is that this group will help us break down preconceived ideas about what and who a writer is.”
Group sessions will be formatted to activate creativity and provide accountability for establishing a regular writing practice. Attendees will explore techniques such as automatic writing, narrative structuring, found poetry, character studies and revision. Through this supportive environment, members will give and receive feedback while honing their skills.
If you’re ready to dive deeper into your creative potential, bring any words you’d like to share, your favorite writing device and an open mind. Come explore what story is waiting to be told.
