Political Opinion: From Sen. Jarvis' Desk - September 23, 2022

Dear Friends,

I hope everyone has enjoyed the first few days of fall! Let's see what else has happened this week:

The former CEO of EnergyUnited and long time Davidson County resident, Wayne Wilkins, was awarded the Order of the Long Leaf Pine. Our community is so proud of all his service and accomplishments.

This week opened the Davidson County Agricultural Fair! Senior's Day at the Fair was a wonderful event to celebrate the fair, the community and all the local agriculture and businesses.

Many new voting polices in NC have been discussed as election day approaches. The most recent discussion has been surrounding felon's eligibility to vote.

On Monday, several community leaders hosted the Davidson County Small Business Awards to celebrate all of the amazing businesses that decided to call Davidson County their home.

Discussion of what is to come in the next session has been a popular conversation recently. Senate Leader, Senator Phil Berger discussed the notion of CON reform in the next session.

New Barbecue is coming to Lexington! Cafe 71 Smokehouse BBQ is coming soon.

The Miss Denton Pageant Program is now accepting applications. More information can be found through the Denton Lion Club.

If you have concerns, or questions, you can reply to this newsletter, email, or call my office at (919) 733-5743.

I also take time each day to personally call citizens in our district to listen to their concerns. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve you!
