LEXINGTON, NC – 12/12/2023 – In honor of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and the historic Civil Rights Act of 1964, Anything for Our Youth Group is thrilled to announce the upcoming Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Youth Artist Exhibition and Gallery, showcasing the artistic perspectives of K-12 grade students on the Civil Rights Movement. “This is our second year hosting this amazing event for the youth in our community, and we are excited and can’t wait to see the artistic work from our youth again this year” stated Tina Royal, Director of Anything for Our Youth Group in Lexington, NC

The Civil Rights Act of 1964, a landmark legislation signed into law by President Lyndon Johnson on July 2, 1964, marked a pivotal moment in American history. It aimed to eliminate discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, and national origin, fostering equality and justice. This exhibition serves as a platform for young artists to express their interpretations of the era and the profound impact of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s leadership.

Royal stated, “This is a great way to reach, teach, and celebrate our youth and bring our community together to celebrate the legacy and life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.”
