Press Release: JLD Community Solutions Hosts 15th Annual Fish Fry Fundraiser and 5-on-5 Battle of the Squads Basketball Tournament
Lexington, NC [Current Date] – JLD Community Solutions is excited to announce its 15th Annual Fish Fry Fundraiser alongside the highly anticipated "5-On-5 Battle of the Squads” Basketball Tournament. The events will take place on Saturday, April 5, 2025, offering a day of community engagement, delicious food, and exciting sportsmanship, all while supporting a vital cause.
The Fish Fry will be held from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Davidson County Rescue Squad, where attendees can enjoy tasty fish and chicken plates.
The "5-On-5 Battle of the Squads" Basketball Tournament will tip off at the J Smith Young YMCA from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. This tournament invites teams to compete in a spirited competition to support young men of color in the community.
"This event is a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together, enjoy some friendly competition and great food, and invest in the future of young leaders," says Founder & President, Angela McDuffie. 100% of the funds raised will directly support the JLD Scholarship Fund and the upcoming JLD Leadership Program. How to Get Involved:
• Attend the Fish Fry: Head to the Davidson County Rescue Squad between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM to enjoy delicious fish and chicken plates. Plates include fish/chicken, baked beans, slaw, roll, and dessert. Fish plates: $12 and chicken plates: $15. Presale tickets are available, visit the link below. • Attend the Basketball Tournament: Head to the J Smith Young YMCA to experience teams “And 1” and the “Dream Team” battle it out for a cause! Entry fee: $5
