Lexington Area Habitat for Humanity and Grubb Properties will partner to build Habitat’s 56th house in Lexington. Working together the non-profit and business will make the dream of homeownership a reality!
Grubb Properties was founded in Lexington in 1963 by Bob Grubb, as a single-family home developer. Eventually, Bob’s wife Rochelle Grubb became the Chairman of the Board. Today, their son Clay Grubb is the CEO of Grubb Properties. As 2023 marks their 60th anniversary, Grubb is proud to honor this legacy and return to where it all started. Every year, Grubb Properties team members raise funds and volunteer along with vendor partners to build a Habitat home for a local family through the Grubb Giving Project. Grubb’s longstanding partnership with Habitat for Humanity reflects their core value of bringing people together with homes they love and supports their corporate vision of “working together to make a meaningful impact on America’s housing crisis.” Volunteerism is also encouraged at the company, with all team members receiving 48 hours of paid time off annually for volunteer activities. The Lexington home will be the sixth home the company has built with Grubb Giving Project since 2018.
Habitat for Humanity is celebrating its 35th year of service in Lexington giving hope, fulfilling dreams and building homes. Habitat builds safe, affordable homes by using volunteer labor and donations to help keep costs down. Applicants must be able to purchase the home with an affordable mortgage and work sweat equity hours to help build their home or someone else’s home. Partnering with the Grubb Giving Project will help a mother and her children have a place to call home!
