Press Release: Sen. Jarvis secures over $64 million for Davidson County in State Budget
The N.C. Senate has given final approval to the state’s newly revised budget. Sen. Steve Jarvis helped secure over $64 million for Davidson County.
In the first year of the biennium, the budget appropriates $29.8 billion, and $30.9 billion in the second year.
This budget cuts taxes by $1.2 billion for ALL North Carolina families and businesses over the next two years.
Sen. Jarvis(R-Davidson) said, “The budget is the result of careful planning and cooperation. It lowers taxes for both families and businesses, while also investing in infrastructure improvements across the entire state. The budget reflects a commitment to responsible governance, which has contributed to North Carolina being a state that citizens can take pride in.”
The state budget includes the following allocations for Davidson County:
• Over $40 million for water and sewer infrastructure improvements
• $15 million for Davidson County Airport capital improvements
• Over $3 million for additional county parks, recreation and economic development
• $2.25 million to Davidson-Davie Community College
• Over $2 million for community initiatives which include outreach ministries, children’s programs and school needs.
