Press Release: Lexington City Schools Appoints Dr. Bruce G. Carroll as Executive Director of Human Resources

Voted by a unanimous decision, Lexington City Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Bruce G. Carroll as the Executive Director of Human Resources. Dr. Carroll brings a wealth of experience and a strong educational background to his new role, having served extensively in educational leadership positions.
Dr. Carroll holds an impressive educational portfolio, including an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, with a dissertation focusing on "The Impact of Charter Schools on Rural Traditional Public-Schools and Their Communities." He also possesses an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership, an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from High Point University, and a B.A. in History and Religious Studies from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
His professional journey in education spans numerous leadership roles. Dr. Carroll served as Principal at various middle schools including Wheatmore Middle School, Archdale-Trinity Middle School, and Ledford Middle School, consistently demonstrating accomplishments such as meeting or exceeding expected growth indicators and leading schools through transitions.
In addition to his administrative roles, Dr. Carroll contributed significantly as an Adjunct Instructor at High Point University School of Education, instructing courses in data utilization for school improvement and methods of teaching secondary social studies. He also possesses extensive teaching experience in psychology, social studies, and as a graduation coach.
Dr. Carroll is an accomplished presenter, having delivered numerous presentations at various educational conferences, focusing on topics such as school leadership, technology integration, and innovative approaches to education. His commitment to professional development is evident through his affiliations with organizations like ASCD, NCPAPA, and NCASA, and participation in leadership development programs such as the Distinguished Leadership in Practice.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Carroll actively engages in academic service, community involvement, and leadership roles in various committees and educational programs. His commitment to community and education is further exemplified through his involvement in committees focused on teacher support programs, policy revisions, and athletic reviews.
