Press Release: Suspect arrested following stolen vehicle pursuit in Lexington
Today at approximately 10:07 a.m. the Lexington Police Department Officers observed a Chevy Malibu on Lowes Boulevard and Fairview Drive that was reported to be stolen during a carjacking in the Tyro area. Officers initiated a traffic stop and the driver fled from the location in the vehicle, leading to an officer pursuit.
During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle struck a vehicle in the roadway of North Main Street at West 5th Street. The suspect continued to flee from officers where they eventually left the roadway and crashed at the bottom of an embankment on LFI Complex Lane.
There were no reported injuries in either collision. The driver, and only occupant of the vehicle, was arrested at LFI Complex Lane.
The driver was found to be Warren Walker, 32. Walker was arrested and is being charged with:
Felony flee to elude
Possession of a stolen motor vehicle
Hit and run
Property damage
Driving while license revoked
Careless and reckless driving
Speeding.
Walker was held in the Davidson County Jail under no bond and is scheduled to appear in Lexington District Court on November 4, 2024.
