Press Release: Thomasville issues a notification of discharge of untreated wastewater

The City of Thomasville has issued a notification of discharge of untreated wastewater.

General Statute 143-215.1C requires that the owner or operator of any wastewater collection or treatment works to issue a press release when an untreated wastewater discharge of 1000 gallons or more reaches surface waters.

The following information is in accordance with that regulation. This news release has been prepared and issued to media in the affected county.

  •  The City of Thomasville had a discharge of untreated wastewater on 5/14/2024 of an estimated 6,300 gallons at Pilot Pump Station , 300 High Meadows Road. The untreated wastewater was discharged into Jimmy’s Creek. The Division of Water Resources was notified of the event on 5/15/2024 and is reviewing the matter.

  • The City of Thomasville had a discharge of untreated wastewater on 5/14/2024 of an estimated 12,000 gallons at East Davidson Pump Station , 810 Old Emanuel Church Road. The untreated wastewater was discharged into Hamby Creek. The Division of Water Resources was notified of the event on 5/15/2024 and is reviewing the matter.

  • The City of Thomasville had a discharge of untreated wastewater on 5/14/2024 of an estimated 14,400 gallons at Northside Pump Station , 1002 West Cooksey Drive. The untreated wastewater was discharged into Hanks Branch. The Division of Water Resources was notified of the event on 5/15/2024 and is reviewing the matter.
