Road closures upcoming in Davidson County to replace pipes

LEXINGTON – State transportation crews have closed one road and will close two others in Davidson County in the coming weeks to replace damaged pipes beneath three roads.

Crews on Thursday closed Crousetown Road between John Beck Road and Cid Road due to a pipe failure. The road will likely remain closed until Sept. 16, when crews expect to have replaced the damaged pipe. Drivers should follow detour signs onto Cid Road, then N.C. 109 and Cedar Springs Road.

Construction crews will close Old Linwood Road (State Road 1104) between Brown and Albemarle streets from Sept. 6-9 to replace a damaged pipe beneath the road and then resurface the road. Barricades and signs will be put in place directing drivers to follow the detour onto Albemarle Street, then Cotton Grove Road (N.C. 8) and Brown Street.

Crews then will close New Jersey Church Road between N.C. 47 and Jersey Church Road from Sept. 6-16. Barricades will be erected and signs will direct drivers to detour to N.C. 47, N.C. 8 and then Jersey Church Road.

During construction, drivers are asked to slow down, be patient and follow the marked detours.
