Lexington: Road rage incident causes accident on Fairview Drive
Two cars involved in what was described as a road rage incident on Fairview Drive caused another, uninvolved vehicle to drive off the roadway near Highgate Lane, sustaining damage, according to police.
A 911 caller reported what they believed was a “road rage” incident about 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, describing two cars traveling down Fairview Drive in the area of Lowes.
According to Lexington police, there were allegations that one of the drivers had a gun, but during the investigation, no gun was found and no shots were fired.
A third car, not involved in the original incident, went off the road at one point and sustained minor damage. Police say it is unclear if one of the cars in the initial incident hit the third vehicle or if the damage was sustained when the car drove off the road. There were no reports of injuries. One of the cars in the original incident did flee the scene,
The incident remains an active investigation, police are currently looking for both drivers, and charges are pending.
