Lexington —For many years the Salvation Army of Davidson County has highlighted their kettle season with their mascot Sally, one of the Lexington pigs. Recently, Sally The Salvation Army Pig received a makeover to have a better representation of Salvation Army of Davidson County. The Salvation Army would like to attribute the stunning job to the amazing artist April Everhart and her husband David with Art 101 for the wonderful job they did with Sally. And a special thank you to Scott Martin with Express Color Mobile for the final touches.
With this new and improved mascot, The Salvation Army of Davidson County has decided to launch a new fundraising campaign throughout the year and not just at Christmas. They ask that you join them for The Uptown Piggy Pop Up! Starting in March, every month Sally will be visiting a different business and we will send out clues through social media a week before so you will know where to find her. The first person to find Sally and take a picture making a donation will receive a prize. Each entry after will be entered into a weekly drawing. All you have to do is simply post to Facebook and tag @SalvationArmyofDavidsonCounty or Instagram @tsadavidsoncounty.
The Salvation Army of Davidson County is currently looking for businesses to host Sally. If your business would like to have a visit from Sally let us know! The business that ends their month with the most donations will receive a prize. To reserve your month with Sally, contact Laura Sechrest, Director of Development & Community Relations. 336-481-7324 ext. 4 or laura.sechrest@uss.salvationarmy.org.
The Salvation Army of Davidson County is excited to be a part of our community and serve those in need spiritually, emotionally, physically and financially. The intention with this campaign is to bring awareness to the community about your local Salvation Army.
