Salvation Army to host 1st Annual Kickball Classic Tournament fundraiser

Salvation Army to host 1st Annual Kickball Classic Tournament fundraiser

The Salvation Army of Davidson County invites friends and community members to join them for their 1st Annual Kickball Classic Tournament Fundraiser! Other than the known red kettles at Christmas, The Davidson County Salvation Army has not held another annual fundraising event. With this being the first, we wanted to host something different and unique for the community to be engaged with. So the thought came to mind, who doesn’t remember playing kickball in school? It’s a nostalgic event that requires very little skill and fun for all ages! Being a community organization that assist individuals and families, we wanted our first fundraiser to reflect that as well. This is a free event for anyone to attend and open to all ages to participate! So sign up your company, community group, youth group, church group, etc….

When:  Saturday, September 9th, 2023
Where:  Finch Park
15 Paul Beck Road, Lexington, NC (2 lower fields)
Time: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm

The Salvation Army of Davidson County is working with the City of Lexington Parks & Recreation Department to co-host the event. When we reached out to them with the idea they graciously agreed to assist. We are so thankful for the opportunity to be working with them for this event. The Parks and Rec Department is managing the team registration and day of tournament logistics. Kickball team registration is currently open and you can register at https://bit.ly/sakickballclassic. The cost is $200 a team with a limit to 8 teams. Teams can consist of 8 players minimum to 12 players max. A minimum age of 10 years old will be allowed with majority of the team players 16 years or older. Included in your team registration are shirts in requested team color and size (max 12 shirts), team name recognition in social media post and program, refreshments provided during games for team members, and a guarantee of 2 games. Registration deadline is August 18th.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available for this event ranging from a “Grand Slam Sponsor” to a “Championship Supporter” with some great incentives and publicity for your company or business.

There will be food trucks on site for purchase during the tournament for everyone to enjoy!

The proceeds from this event will go to direct services provided in Davidson County by The Salvation Army and Boys & Girls Club for grocery assistance, community meals (soup kitchen), rent and utility assistance and youth programs for after school and summer day camp. Help us in “Doing the Most Good” for those in need in our community!
