Santa Claus is coming to town: Uptown Lexington's parade seeks applicants

According to Travis Stewart, executive director of Uptown Lexington, this is the nonprofit’s largest fundraiser of the year. Uptown Lexington has been responsible for the festivities since approximately 2013, taking over for the Lexington Jaycees.

Vendors are invited to register here by Nov. 21. For the past few years, space has been tight. First come, first served. Stewart said the small fee is worth it. According to Stewart, Uptown Lexington is one of the few evening parades remaining in the region.

In 2022, the parade had more than 85 floats, bands, cheerleaders, businesses and church participants including Santa. As tradition goes, Santa is the final float bringing Christmas joy to an estimated 8 to 10,000 parade attendees every year.
