Schools remain closed for students, optional workday for staff

Davidson County’s three local school systems - Lexington City, Thomasville City and Davidson County Schools - will be closed for students on Wednesday, January 19. This is the result of a wintry mix on Sunday, January 16 which continues to create hazardous road conditions across the county.

Although school buildings won’t be open in Lexington, students will operate under an asynchronous remote learning model. School principals will communicate what this model will encompass at various grade levels. Lexington City Schools staff will receive further instructions from Human Resources about their work schedule for Wednesday.

Thomasville City and Davidson County Schools staff have an optional teacher workday. Report time is 10:00am for DCS staff.
