Spectrum outage causes local challenges

On Wednesday, July 31st it was difficult for many to access wireless internet services through Spectrum due to what the company has identified as third party damage to their fiber system.

The widespread internet outage made it challenging, if not impossible for customers to use their home internet services, make phone calls and also freely use their debit and credit cards for purchases.

Spectrum teams worked quickly to repair and resolve the issue which began to improve around 8:30 p.m. with the majority of customers having their services up and running again before midnight.

Some local businesses were forced to halt service for the evening due to the inability for their customers to make electronic purchases, while most businesses simply accepted only cash.

Spectrum assures wireless customers that all services should be back and fully operational today.
