Structure Fire on Tussey Street LEXINGTON, NC
City of Lexington Fire Department Responds to– Early Monday morning, the City of Lexington Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 309-B Tussey Street. Upon arrival, fire crews noticed heavy smoke showing from the side of the building. Lexington’s Engine 1 crew quickly established a fire attack to mitigate property loss and searched for any trapped occupants. The quick response allowed Fire Crews to limit fire damage to the exterior of the building. Two adult occupants were displaced, and Lexington Fire Department notified the Red Cross. The adjoining apartment was not damaged. Investigators determined that the fire originated outside when a tent caught on fire and then spread to the structure. All crews cleared and released the scene to the owners at approximately 1:45 am
