Transportation Provided for Veterans to attend Stand Down

Davidson County, NC – Through a partnership of Davidson County Departments of Senior Services and Transportation Services, veterans can attend the upcoming Forsyth County Veterans Stand Down. The April 9 event will be held from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm at the NCWorks Career Center at 2710 University Parkway in Winston-Salem.

Including participation by the NC Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Veterans Affairs, NC Works, and Goodwill Industries, the event will offer Benefits Assistance, Mental Health Screenings, Employment Assistance and Gear Distribution. Contingent upon availability at the time of the event, Johnson & Johnson COVID Vaccinations will be provided for homeless veterans. Veterans will need to show ID such as DD-214 or Veteran ID. Face masks are required, temperature checks will be administered and social distancing enforced. Questions regarding the event can be sent to archie.barrow@abccm.org.

Transportation will be provided at no cost to Davidson County veterans.
