Lexington Police Department Investigates Fatal Traffic Accident

LEXINGTON, NC – Lexington police officers responded to a call for service on Friday, April 21, at approximately 6:34 am, related to a traffic accident. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2022 Jeep Gladiator, driven by Tona Marlow of Lexington, was turning onto Anna Lewis Drive from South Main Street. A 2008 Kia, driven by Tammy Shepard of Lexington, was traveling South on South Main Street. The vehicles collided in the intersection. The driver of the Kia, Tammy Shepard, died from injuries sustained in the

crash. Marlow sustained minor injuries.

The Lexington Police Department is currently investigating the cause of the crash. Lexington Fire Department, Davidson County EMS, and Davidson County Rescue Squad assisted at the scene.
