Last year several local groups joined together to not only provide turkeys, but so much more. Davidson County Compassion Inspiring Action, Carolina Senior Care, Scout Metals and Davidson Local are teaming up for the second year to serve warm meals with a side of compassion.
For 35 years, former Arcadia-based paramedic Donald Reid Deal, known as Reid, helped to save others. Now, a local group is working to assist the recent amputee.
In true Davidson Local style, we will honor the month with stories that not only weave information into the telling but engage emotions and energy. Groups of women will be featured this month to represent action, transition, leadership and compassion in our local community. Stories will include local perspectives from an array of collaborators.

Exactly one week after the fire, Tuesday, June 22, at 7 a.m., Ron VanLandingham, called C.I.A - Compassion Inspiring Action, a nonprofit organization committed to helping those in need in the community. Within a few hours, in the driveway of what they had called home for more than five months, stood the young couple, Michael and Johnson, with Davis, Miller and the charred remains of a home.
