On Monday, April 28, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., Lexington’s City Council will issue a formal proclamation honoring National Poetry Month and one of our region’s literary treasures, Barbara Presnell.
You can drop off books from 10am until 1pm on Saturday, July 29.
The Friends of the Library will start collecting (and selling) books, CDs, DVDs, etc. the last Saturday in every month at the Library Annex, 612 S. Main St. in back of the main library.
The Friends of the Lexington Library is proud to announce our Annual Book Sale scheduled for October 7 at 8 with a Members’ Only Preview on Thursday, October 6.
Jaki Shelton Green, North Carolina’s Poet Laureate, will present a reading of her poetry, April 5, 2022, at 7 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church, 201 W. 3rd Ave., Lexington, N.C. The event is free and open to the public and sponsored by Friends of the Lexington Library.
