Faith and Fellowship: The Power of the Cross

Faith and Fellowship: The Power of the Cross

Salvation is brought to mankind through the blood of Jesus Christ, which was shed on the cross at Calvary. The power of the cross is the central part of being a Christian.

1 Peter 2:24, “And he himself bore our sin in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live righteousness, for by his wounds you were healed”. The Power of the cross is true to remove guilt and sin. Jesus Christ heals us from the effects of sins, because he bore our sins on the cross.

As believers we understand that everything in our lives has to do with the cross. The songwriter penned it by saying, At the cross at the cross where I first saw the light, and the burden of my heart rolled away. It’s through the cross that God’s Power and God’s wisdom comes forth.

The Apostle Paul gives us a strong testimony in the Bible, Galatians 2:20 teaches us,” I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who lives, but Christ lives in me”. The message of the cross that we hear being preached tells us that Jesus Christ is Lord. The cross brought power from God within him. The message of the cross is foolishnesses to those who are perishing, but to us who are believers, it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18. What A grace filled trade, at the cross our sinless Savior Jesus, had all our sins placed upon him, and then God’s righteousness is placed upon us.

Jesus on the cross, bearing all of our sins, gives us Power to die to sin. The Power of the cross enables us to live righteousnesses, a holy life becomes attainable through the blood of Jesus, that was shed on the cross, that offered us an abundance of his blessings. Once we were separated from God, by our sins, we are now reconciled to God, by faith in Christ death on the cross for us.

The Power of the cross, enables believers to break the grip that things of the world have on us. People look at the cross for various reasons, for some people it is a religious symbol that reminds them of the sacrifice that Jesus made. The Power of the cross teaches us about forgiveness, it teaches us to Love, it teaches us about Jesus drawing power.

As we meditate on the word of God this week, The cross draws us to God, Christ who died on the cross rose with all power in his hand. Thank you Jesus, for the Power of the cross.

May God so richly bless!!
