The Salvation Army of Davidson County prepares to open registration for Christmas assistance

DAVIDSON COUNTY, NC (September 6, 2022) –
“We are gearing up to begin this holiday season and ready to enjoy all the festivities and many ways of celebrating life and love in our community. The Salvation Army Angel Tree ® program is a huge part of that for us. Connecting resources to bring holiday cheer to so many” says Major Whitney Morton of The Salvation Army Davidson County Corps. This year’s Angel Tree ® will be accepting registration for children for its annual Angel Tree ® program from October 1st – October 14th. The Angel Tree ® program, which provides new clothing and toys for children from low-income families, is for children ages birth to 16.
Local families in need of Christmas Assistance may apply for The Salvation Army of Davidson County’s Angel Tree ® Program.

Beginning on Saturday, October 1st , the parents or legal guardians of children 16 years old and younger, living in Davidson County, are eligible to apply for Christmas assistance with The Salvation Army of Davidson County. Each family registered for the program is screened through a process that helps verify their needs.
In order to complete the online application the following documents will be needed: Picture ID for the person applying. (Driver`s License, Consular ID, Passport), Birth Certificate for each child applying, Proof of Income for all household members this may be in the form of recent paystubs of the month/bank direct deposit verification, child support, Social Security or SSI, or income statement from DFCS for SNAP benefits.
For anyone that is paid with cash must provide letter from employer stating hours and wages. The Salvation Army of Davidson County request that parents be mindful when selecting items for the children’s wish list (Including clothing and shoe sizes of children, and a dream gift idea for each child under $100.) Angel Tree ® distribution will be held on Friday, December 16th , 2022 from 9:00am-2:00pm.
