Thomasville residents may see discolored water for a few days

Thomasville residents may see discolored water for a few days

Customers on the City of Thomasville water system may experience dingy water over the next few days due to naturally occurring sediment that has been stirred up in the distribution system. A combination of lightning strikes and a car wreck have caused repeated electrical outages. This in turn has caused the distribution system pumps to stop suddenly, which has stirred up sediment in the pipes. While the water may appear discolored, it is safe for consumption. Crews are attempting to flush the discolored water from the system and we appreciate your patience as we work through this situation over the next few days.
