The Thomasville Police and Fire were both presented with a check totaling $18,000 following a golf tournament at Greensboro National Golf Club hosted by "First Responders of the Triad."
The Thomasville Water department is receiving calls about customers without water more than likely due to the freezing temperatures that we are experiencing. Please contact the Thomasville Water Plant if you have a water emergency such as a busted pipe that is flooding an area. City of Thomasville City Manager Michael Brandt is pleased to announce the position became available after Fire Chief Eddie Bowling was promoted to Assistant City Manager. Thomasville received many great candidates for the position from across the country but after extensive assessments Chief Myers was selected to fill the Fire Chief role.
A multicultural committee formed in 2012 was recently dissolved by the city of Thomasville. The unanimous vote by the council cited “over the past several years, the multicultural committee has deviated from the primary mission of promoting and embracing all of the community's cultures and has expressed interest in focusing on a more narrowly tailored group of cultures,” and in a resolution to dissolve the group.

On April 18, the Thomasville City Council adopted a resolution to covert the Thomasville City Schools Board of Education positions from appointed to elected. The first election will take place on November 7, 2023.
