LCS Superintendent hosts forum to discuss next LSHS principal, stakeholders can express desires via survey

On Tuesday, July 12 Dr. Nakia Hardy, the new superintendent for Lexington City Schools, held a Community Forum at Lexington Senior High School’s Media Center to gather input from community stakeholders - staff, parents, coaches, etc. regarding their preferred characteristics and expectations of the new principal. There were approximately 20 people in attendance. Some of the desires expressed included: knows curriculum, is invested in growing all students, has a special education background, has a track record of staying in a position longer than a year, welcomes community involvement and wants to learn and understand the community.

If you were unable to attend the meeting, you have the opportunity express your desirables via survey. It can be found at this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FYPJWVG and will be open until the end of next week. Hardy stated she wants students, parents, staff, coaches, residents and anyone who has a vested interested in LSHS and Lexington City Schools to complete the survey.

Hardy noted she hopes to make a recommendation at the next board of education meeting on August 2.
