A few months ago, Lexington native Joel Leonard approached us with a workforce development column idea that our readers now know as Give Work A Chance. The title was borne out of our team's knowledge that new industries, restaurants, schools and small businesses across the region desperately need workers. We equally understand that local workers have frustrations with the quality of industries, training, workers rights, benefits and a lack of access to hiring employers. As the series has progressed Joel turned into a job coach and recruiter of sorts. Future employers and employees alike responded to his columns with their needs. So Davidson Local decided to host a large-scale event that would become more than your typical job fair. We hope you will join us with friends and family! This is designed to be a fun and informative event! We are honored to have Renee Vaughn of 91.7 WQMG as emcee! Help us spread the word and encourage people to sign up on our Facebook Page. We have a number of door prizes. FIVE people who attend will be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift card and other giveaways. We’re excited about bringing this event to our community! All are welcome!
