Two Emergency Pipe Replacements Coming to Davidson County Roads

Press release from NCDOT

THOMASVILLE – The N.C. Department of Transportation will be closing roads in Davidson County for two pipe replacements.

Fisher Ferry Street will be closed in both directions near Koontz Avenue. Motorists are advised to use West Holly Hill, Kendall Mill and Lake roads as a detour.

On Wednesday, Holly Grove Road will be closed in both directions near Johnsontown Road. Motorists are advised to use Johnsontown, Emanuel Church, Kendall Mill, Lake and Black roads as a detour.

Both of these emergency closures are necessary to replace failed crossline pipes running under the road to prevent further damage to the routes. All work is expected to be complete by May 20.

Motorists are reminded to use caution while approaching the work zones and allow extra time for the detours.
