He is actively involved in Mountcastle’s United Way Workplace campaign and encourages his staff to volunteer for the Fund Distribution process, Week of Caring and Loaned Executive program.

“We believe in the United Way of Davidson County. The United Way provides critical support for those in our community at their most desperate time of need. It efficiently targets action toward basic needs in our community including Health, Education and Financial Stability. In addition, they helped our caring agencies stay afloat during Covid 19 last year.  The United Way Board has an established policy promoting diversity and inclusion. Their annual Fund Distribution process involves members of our community who dig into the work and finances of our partner agencies and make tough decisions about funding. Please consider volunteering on a Fund Distribution panel. Everyone should feel really good that their gifts are meeting the most critical needs in our community,” explained Walt and Tricia.

They have two children. Their daughter, Ashley, lives in Durham with her husband, Anthony Peters. Their son, David, lives in Winston Salem and works for Mountcastle Insurance. They also love spending time with their family and watching their grandchildren grow up.

John Clowney, board chair of the United Way of Davidson County, said, “We are very excited about being able to honor Walt and Tricia and what they mean to Davidson County. They truly represent what it means to LIVE UNITED and they inspire those around them to do the same.”
