Re: Hazardous Materials Training Exercise

Emergency responders will be participating in a training exercise in Thomasville, NC.

Crews will undergo training by simulating a hazardous material leak at the Harcros Chemicals Inc. facility near I-85 and Randolph Street in Thomasville on Friday, Sept. 16th from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Anyone in the area should not be alarmed. There will be no fire activity, the training will simulate a leak only to enhance future preparedness for the response teams.

Agencies/Organizations involved in the exercise include Thomasville Fire & Rescue, Thomasville Police Department, Davidson County Emergency Services, Greensboro Fire Department, North Carolina State Highway Patrol, North Carolina Department of Transportation, Novant Health - Thomasville Medical Center and the Davidson County Local Emergency Planning Committee.

The exercise is closed to the public.
