Update: Fire at Brooker T's under investigation

Brooker T’s Cafe caught fire Tuesday afternoon. {Kassaundra Shanette Lockhart/Davidson Local}

A fire that begin shortly before 3pm on Tuesday afternoon at Brooker T’s Cafe at 103 S. Main St. in Uptown Lexington has been extinguished. The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined.

While the extent of the damage hasn’t been stated, we’ve been able to see the restaurant sustained major damage in the main dining room. Lexington Fire Department confirmed the fire was contained to Brooker T’s and didn’t spread to neighboring businesses.

Fire crews will remain on the scene to monitor until they deem it safe to vacate. Currently, Main St. is closed between Center St. and 2nd Ave.
