Breaking News: Brooker T's Cafe catches fire, no reported injuries

A fire at Brooker T’s Café on Main St. has created detours in Uptown Lexington. From what Davidson Local has been able to gather from sources including Lexington Mayor Jason Hayes and the Lexington Police Department, a call came into 911 shortly before 3:00pm about a fire at the restaurant.

The café is closed on Tuesdays and no one was inside. No injuries have been reported.

Gathered at the scene amongst onlookers were owners of the restaurant, Brooke Bishop and her mother, Tammy Cornell, owners of the building, Mike and Paula Turlington and staff of Brooker T’s.

Responding agencies include Lexington Fire Department, Davidson County EMS, Lexington Police Department, Davidson County Sheriff’s Department, Davidson County Rescue Squad and Linwood Fire Department. Currently, Main St. is blocked off from 1st St. to 2nd Ave. Some side streets are blocked off as well. Detours are expected to be in place throughout the evening.
