Update on Investigation of illnesses linked to all Diamond Shruumz-Brand products

The FDA has transitioned from its initial response activities managed by FDA’s Coordinated Outbreak Response & Evaluation (CORE) Network, to identify the source and to contain the event to minimize illness. The agency is now focused on post-incident response actions and activities, which may include additional surveillance, as well as prevention and compliance activities.

On October 18, 2024, FDA published an updated list of store names and locations known to sell Diamond Shruumz-brand products.  All Diamond Shruumz-brand products have been recalled and should not be available for sale. If you know of a retailer (online or in-person) continuing to sell recalled Diamond Shruumz-brand product, you can report this information to FDA.

As of October 31, 2024, CDC’s investigation identified a total of 180 illnesses* reported from 34 states; 73 people have been hospitalized, and there are three (3) potentially associated deaths.

As of November 4, 2024, test results are available for 22 Diamond Shruumz-brand gummies. Testing for the presence of compounds in Diamond Shruumz-brand products has been completed and the results have been summarized in the Sample Results section below. CORE’s investigation is complete, and the agency is now focused on post-incident actions and activities.
