Update: School closure extended at Charles England Elementary School
Lexington City Schools announces that Charles England Elementary School (CEES) will remain closed to students on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, due to significant flooding that occurred on October 14th.
Restoration efforts are currently underway, and classes will resume on Thursday, October 17, 2024.
While students are unable to attend in person, the district will be offering free lunch for pick-up from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at CEES. Additionally, we are excited to provide 40 copies of The Energy Bus for Kids on a first-come, first-served basis (one copy per family). Each student will also receive a STEM activity kit to take home when picking up their lunch.
Our primary concern remains the safety and well-being of our students and staff. We appreciate the continued patience and understanding from our school community as we work through these challenges.
