Thomasville, NC — The Thomasville Police Department's Traffic Safety Unit conducted an investigation into a tragic vehicle accident resulting in the death of a pedestrian.
On Monday, October 23, 2023, at 12:14 a.m., officers responded to the scene near 50 W. Holly Hill Road, Thomasville, in response to a vehicle striking a pedestrian.
The incident involved a 2007 Subaru Legacy, driven by Daniel Gallimore, 39, a resident of Thomasville, traveling east on West Holly Hill near Curtis Street. Sandra Howard, 62, also a resident of Thomasville, was walking west in the eastbound lane and was struck by the Subaru. Tragically, Ms. Howard lost her life at the scene.
Gallimore did not sustain any injuries. No charges were filed.
