We are the world
We have been called to be the light in this dark world.
John 9:15, Jesus said, “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
In this world today, we may find many people not willing to take a moral stand. Therefore, it is our duty as believers to take a stand. We should always illuminate with our lights shining. We should always show the world how God loves us all. Therefore we should know that we are the world.
We are in this world, but not of this world because we have been bought with the ultimate price.In this world, the scriptures teach us that we will have trials and tribulations, but we should always be of good cheer and rest assured that joy will always come to the believer.
Being in this world gives us the benefits of carrying the light of the world which shines wisdom and will guide us through trouble and challenging times. There are some days when the world becomes overwhelming, but there is good news, this is not our home.
The life of the believer conveys both an absence of darkness and quality that will help us to see and understand more clearly.
In the year of 1985, We Are the World was a song recorded by the supergroup U.S.A. For Africa. The song went on to state, “There comes the time when we heed a certain call, when the world must come together as one. There are people dying oh, and it’s time to lend a hand to life, the greatest gift of all. We can’t go on pretending day by day someone, somewhere soon may make a change. We are all a part of God‘s great big family and the truth, you know ,love is all we need. We are the world, we are the children, we are the ones who make a brighter day so let’s start giving. There’s a choice we’re making: we're saving our own lives. It's true we’ll make a better day just you and me.”
Now let us therefore come together in love, peace and forgiveness for one to another, remembering a light heart is wise and not held down by heavy emotions. Our lives are a great connection because we are the world. Remembering always, 1 John 4:17 which teaches us, “Herein is our love made perfect that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as he is so are we in this world we are living in this transient world.”
We should look forward to a new world, a new heaven and a new earth. The home of the righteous now is love, so let us always have loving hearts that we may let our light shine before men.
As we meditate on the world of God this week let us walk in the light, the beautiful light, knowing that our light cannot be dimmed by the darkness. Let us shine our lights like diamonds that always make the world shine brighter because we all the world.
