WellCare of North Carolina to host Block Party Event for Medicaid beneficiaries

WellCare of North Carolina will host a Block Party Event in Lexington to provide comprehensive support and resources to Medicaid beneficiaries, focusing on enhancing their health, well-being, and empowerment. 

This event will bring together beneficiaries, healthcare providers and community organizations to offer education on Medicaid Expansion, the Medicaid eligibility renewal process and essential services designed to improve beneficiary health outcomes.

This community initiative will take place on Saturday March 09, 2024 at 292 North Talbert Boulevard which is located in the Davidson Plaza, at the rear of the parking lot directly across from Roses.

Future Block Party Events are also planned across the state through April 2024.

 This event will Include:

Information Booths: Sharing information helpful to beneficiaries to understand Medicaid benefits, the Medicaid eligibility renewal process, Medicaid Expansion, all WellCare resources and available community services designed to improve beneficiary health outcomes.

Children’s Corner: An array of activities for kids, such as educational sessions on nutrition and hygiene. Resources will be available to parents on children's health and development.

 Community Engagement and Networking: Opportunities for attendees, WellCare, and its partners to connect and foster a sense of community and support.

 Resource Fair: Local partners, organizations and agencies providing information on social services, financial assistance programs, job training, housing support, and legal aid.

 Accessibility and Inclusivity: Event locations will be accessible by public transportation and will accommodate individuals with disabilities. 

This Block Party Event will include a DJ, a game truck with additional games, face painting, a magic show and free food. There will also be prizes and giveaways.

 Since 2021, WellCare has served the unique needs of low-income individuals and families including seniors and disabled individuals.

WellCare is looking forward to providing these Block Party Events to further collaborate with community leaders, local partners and agencies to foster dialogue with its members, and create healthy and thriving communities across North Carolina.
