There are many reasons to be excited about the Lexington Farmers Market's Winter Market

Get excited for the second Winter Market of the season, happening at the Depot located at 129 South Railroad Street this Saturday from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. It’s going to be another busy and diverse market with new products and features from several vendors. If it gets a little chilly, there are indoor heaters on site to keep everyone comfortable.

It’s a great day to pick out unique and meaningful Valentine's Day gifts from the array of artisans selling items ranging from jewelry, hand-turned ink pens, luxurious soaps and body butters to hand knitted and crocheted designs. There is something for everyone.

Don't forget to stock up on meat for Super Bowl Sunday, there will be locally raised chicken, pork, beef, lamb, and turkey available for any and every game day recipe. In addition, grab some delicious cheeses to feature on your cheese board. Take your party up a notch with craft ale, cider, and mead from Goose and the Monkey Brewhouse and Stardust Cellars.

With the prices of staple grocery items increasing each week, it is becoming more and more challenging for individuals and families to keep their cupboards stocked. At the Lexington Farmers Market, those that receive benefits from the SNAP EBT programs can get more.

The Lexington Farmers Market continues its “Double Your Dollars” program for recipients of SNAP EBT (also known as food stamps) benefits. For every SNAP dollar,  customers will receive $2 in tokens to spend with vendors. Recipients can double up to  $20 of SNAP benefits per day.
