South Carolina man arrested for several indecent offenses with a minor

An April 9, 2024, a report was filed with a School Resource Officer with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office where it was reported that a High School Student had engaged in an inappropriate relationship with an unknown adult. This report was assigned to a Detective with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and an investigation began.

Through that investigation a suspect, Randall Kent Shook of Wellford South Carolina was identified. On September 6, 2024 warrants for arrest were issued for statutory sex offense with a child, indecent liberties with a minor, soliciting prostitution of a minor, and abduction of children. With the assistance of Special Agents from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office Randall Kent Shook was taken into custody on September 24, 2024. Shook was then issued an initial court date of September 26, 2024, in Davidson County District Court. Shook was then ordered and transported to the Davidson County Detention Center.

The investigation continued and additional information was gathered which resulted in Shook being charged with ten counts of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, ten counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, and ten counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
