Kudos to all of these super-hero squads of parents. They saved prom and gave the kids in Davidson County (especially the upperclassmen) who have sacrificed so much for two years, a prom they all deserved. With the love of parents, the generosity of the community, sponsors, venues, DJs and everyone else in the "village" that it took. Thanks to you, COVID-19 did NOT win this one.

This is a remarkable step forward in our fight against the pandemic, and soon we can begin safely returning to our lives. But scammers have used the pandemic as an excuse to take advantage of people for the past year, and they’re still at it. The next fight against COVID-19 vaccine scams is stopping the spread and use of false vaccine cards.
With reporters on the beat struggling with limited resources, who’s covering city council meetings and providing follow- ups? School board meetings? County commissioners? Who’s listening to candidates for elective office and the platforms they’re espousing? Where are the watchdogs providing First Amendment accountability?
