Davidson-Davie Community College, UNCC partner in transfer program
THOMASVILLE – Students at Davidson-Davie Community College now have an easy pathway to earning a degree at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Thanks to a new transfer partnership with UNC Charlotte’s 49erNext program, students who earn an Associate degree at Davidson-Davie can seamlessly transfer into their major at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
The program includes specific advising, collaborative support from both Davidson Davie and UNC Charlotte, campus benefits and more – all things tailored to help students easily transition to UNC Charlotte.
Students enrolled in 49erNext will meet with community college advisors, where they’ll select transferable courses each semester that align with majors at UNC Charlotte. After students finish at Davidson-Davie, they’ll have the opportunity to roll right into their major.
“This program I s a phenomenal way for students to earn course credits on many of the required classes that lead to earning a bachelor’s degree,” said Angie Mack, senior director of Student Engagement and Success at Davidson-Davie. “49erNext is a guaranteed path to gain admission into UNC Charlotte.”
Not only will students be guided along the way with selecting the proper courses, but they’ll also receive assistance with financial aid processes, career advising, and
opportunities to develop financial literacy skills – all important pieces in navigating and completing college courses toward a degree, Mack added.
Students opting to participate in the 49erNext program must be pursuing an Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Associate in Engineering, Associate in Fine Arts, Associate in Arts-Teacher Prep, or an Associate in Science-Teacher Prep.
