Animal cruelty investigation leads to couple's arrest

Deputies with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office began an Animal Cruelty Investigation in the Lexington area, of an injured dog that was abandoned on a property at the corner of Old Salisbury Rd and Michael Rd.

During the investigation, it was determined through observations, interviews, and medical evaluations, that Michael Caudle and his passenger Brianna Dagenhart, abandoned an injured, 6-month old Boxer/Pit Mix Puppy. It was later determined that the puppy suffered from a broken leg and a dislocated Pelvis. Davidson County Deputies obtained warrants for Tyler Caudle and Brianna Dagenhart.

On July 17, 2024, Deputies with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Tyler Christian Caudle and Brianna Nichole Dagenhart on active warrants for arrest, from Davidson County, for 1 count of Felony Animal Cruelty, 1 count Misdemeanor Animal Abandonment, and 1 count 2nd Degree Trespassing. Tyler Caudle and Brianna Dagenhart are scheduled to appear in Davidson County Court on August 7, 2024.
