Breaking News: Body found in Erlanger area
Officers responded to a call for service this morning at 10:00 a.m. regarding a possible deceased individual in a wooded area near the Erlanger walking trail in the northern part of Lexington.
The 911 caller, who located the individual, was using the park and walking on the trail.
Upon arrival on the scene, officers and emergency medical personnel discovered a deceased male, later identified as 33-year-old Zachary Hailey of Lexington.
At this time, it is unknown how Hailey died.
Lexington Police Department Crime Scene Investigators and Detectives processed the scene and are still investigating this incident.
Investigators have no reason to believe that there is any ongoing cause for concern for members of the community as it relates to Hailey's death and will release further information as soon as it becomes available.
