The first Writer’s Gathering is Sunday, Oct. 16 at 2 pm at Pig City Books in Lexington. This event is for anyone looking to expand their writing skills and engage with a community of local writers in a low pressure environment. The only requirement for group participation is a willingness to grow as a writer.
“Spirits? What do you know about those?” The groundskeeper asked, looking at me with a hint of amusement in his eyes.
Snider sped up, eventually reaching Viola. “Really?” he tried to confirm before looking on the desk. “Yeah, you’re right.”

“If you’ve got it, flaunt it.” The first time I heard Grady of Sanford and Son fame make that statement, I thought to myself, you know, he’s got a point.

The first funeral I can remember attending was my great-grandmother’s. Actually, I don’t remember the funeral, just the trip for her burial to the mountains where she was born.
