Davidson County bridge replacement set to begin construction

Davidson County bridge replacement set to begin construction

A N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will close Flat Swamp Road in Davidson County for approximately five months for a bridge replacement project over Lick Creek.

Beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, Flat Swamp Road will be closed to through traffic. The project is expected to be completed, with the road reopening, by mid-February 2025.

During the closure, a signed detour will guide traffic using N.C. 8 South to Denton Road and Buie Road.

Drivers are advised to exercise caution and plan accordingly for potential delays caused by the detour.
