Did you know you don’t have to go to Hollywood to have a good Hollywood style bed made? There are some made right here in Lexington. Despite the loss of the city’s heritage industry, furniture manufacturing still has a presence.  There are stimulating jobs available for those who like to work with their hands and gain the satisfaction of producing well made furniture in Lexington. 

Dan Harpole is the Vice President of Operations for Hollywood Bed. I asked a few questions about the opportunities the company has to offer, their needs and candidate profile.

  1. What products does Hollywood Bed produce at the Lexington facility?

    Bed Frames, Bed Bases, Bunk Springs and various other bedding support items

  2. What type of positions do you desire to fill? 

    Entry level Production, Press Operators, Maintenance Techs, Welders

  3. How many workers do you need? 

    Approximately 15-20

  4. What prerequisites are desired for the candidates? 

    At least 18 years of age and 1-2 years of experience in like environment is a plus

  5. What personal attributes do you desire? 

    We look for candidates that put safety first, flexible to rotate between teams and working independently, efficient time management and eager to learn new skills.

  6. What duties will these workers perform? 

    The entry level production associates will be trained in various machine operations

  7. What are the compensation ranges? 

    Production starts at $15.50/hour and maintenance starts at $19.00/hour and up

  8. What benefits are available? 

    Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K w/company matching, Vacation & Holidays, 4-Day Work Week – Mon.-Thur., 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., w/overtime as needed
