Faith and Fellowship: Goodness and Mercy

Faith and Fellowship: Goodness and Mercy

There will never be a day in which the goodness and mercy of the Lord, will not be immediately nearby.
In Psalm 23, God is perfectly good in his character and flawlessly good in all his actions. Even when we find ourselves being faithless, God always remains faithful. In Psalm 23, when David testifies that goodness will follow him, It represents the way in which God shows his love for us. David also states that mercy follows him. This is the unconditional love of the Father.

The divine twins of goodness and mercy are constantly bringing us closer to God. There is so much goodness with God. As believers goodness and mercy are available to us. There may be times when we miss the mark with God. Psalm 34:18, The Lord is nigh unto them, that are of the broken heart, the goodness and mercy of God especially follows you when you are hurting.

Someone may say, that goodness and mercy has not followed them all the days of their lives. The word of God teaches us, in this life you will have tribulations, but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world, John 16:33 God’s spirit will allow us to remain in peace. When everything in the world seems to be out of control, Just remember, God’s peace has already overcome the world. God’s goodness is his love, God is love. God’s mercy is him not withholding his love from us.

As believers once you have had an encounter with God’s goodness and mercy, we must look to Jesus who was the perfect sacrifice and atonement for our sins. As believers we should show mercy, as we would like to receive mercy. If you ever feel discouraged and your faith is shrinking, there is something you can do, that will encourage you and strengthen your faith. Pray to the father and watch his goodness and mercy show up in your life.

As we continue throughout our lives with goodness and mercy, let us remember, God’s goodness is flowing over us, God’s mercy is following us wherever we go. Remember just as God has blessed us in the past, he will bless us in the future. As believers we should not worry or fear because goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our lives. God’s Grace is sufficient for us. The songwriter penned it by stating, Your goodness and mercy brought me through.

As we meditate on the word of God this week let us remember, God’s blessings, protection and provision are flowing over you. And God’s goodness and mercy has followed you throughout your life.

May God so richly bless!!!
